Who is eligible for the PGIMER Nursing Officer post?
There are two separate routes, and you only need to satisfy one of them.
Route A — degree route
- B.Sc (Hons) Nursing or a regular B.Sc Nursing course or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, from a recognised University or Institute; and
- Registered as a Nurse or Nurse and Midwife (RN or RN & RM) with a State Nursing Council.
Route B — diploma route
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognised Board or Council; and
- Registered as a Nurse and Midwife with a State Nursing Council; and
- One year of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital, gained after the qualification.
The age limit is 18 to 35 years, measured on 3 October 2026, using the date of birth on your Matriculation certificate only. No later request to change it is accepted.

The photograph rule is unusual and it is enforced. A picture without your name and date visible, or one taken before 1 July 2026, is grounds for rejection.
Common mistakes that get applications rejected
- OBC certificate from the wrong financial year. It must be issued between 1 April 2026 and 3 October 2026, in the DoPT format, showing non-creamy-layer status.
- Registration details cannot be edited. Name, father’s/mother’s name, date of birth, mobile and email are locked once you register. There is no correction window — only a fresh application with a different email and mobile, and no refund of the first fee.
- Missing NOC. Government employees without one are cancelled at any stage.
- Experience certificate without dates. It must show the “from” and “to” period, duties, pay scale, reference number and issue date, and only experience gained after the qualifying degree counts.
- Waiting for the last date. Exam cities run out on a first-come basis.
