How to calculate: (correct × marks per question) − (wrong × penalty). For Mathematics, 80 correct and 20 wrong gives (80 × 2.5) − (20 × 0.83) = 200 − 16.6 = 183.4 marks.
Remember the 25% qualifying rule: you must score at least 25% in Mathematics and 25% in GAT separately. Clearing the overall cut-off is not enough if either paper falls below its own minimum — every year candidates with good aggregates are eliminated on this alone.

How to read these numbers
- 304.9 out of 900 is about 34%. The NDA written cut off is far lower than candidates expect, because one-third negative marking drags the whole distribution down.
- The women’s cut off is higher, and that is not a typo. 358.84 against 304.9 — vacancies for women are a fraction of the total, so the same paper produces a much higher bar.
- 25% in each paper is a hard floor. Clearing 304.9 overall means nothing if Maths is below 75 out of 300. Every year a number of candidates lose selection on this alone.
- The written cut off is only half the journey. 699 out of 1800 is the number that actually matters — the SSB carries 900 marks, exactly as much as the written exam.
What the NDA 2 2026 cut off will depend on
Two variables: vacancies notified for this cycle, and the difficulty of the Mathematics paper. GAT is broad but predictable; Maths is where the spread happens, and a hard Maths paper pulls the written cut off down by 15–25 marks. Any expected cut off published before the paper has been solved is a guess.

- Do not wait for the official result to begin. Candidates who start SSB preparation only after the result consistently arrive underprepared for the psychology tests and GTO tasks.
- If you fell short, identify which paper did it. Most candidates lose NDA in GAT, not Maths — and General Knowledge is the most fixable section of the entire paper.
