Who can apply for CAPF (AC) 2027
Age limit
20 to 25 years as on 1 August 2027. Age relaxation applies as per government norms for reserved categories such as SC/ST, OBC and ex-servicemen.
Educational qualification
A bachelor's degree from a recognised university. Final-year students may apply subject to UPSC conditions.
Application fee
₹200 for General & OBC candidates. Female, SC, ST and PwBD candidates are exempted. Pay online by credit/debit card, net banking or e-challan.

Is the CAPF (AC) interview similar to SSB?
The CAPF (AC) Personality Test (175 marks) is conducted by a Board and is similar to SSB but shorter. It includes a personal interview assessing leadership, communication, general awareness, and personality. Unlike a full 5-day SSB, the CAPF interview is typically 1–2 days. NCA provides specific CAPF interview preparation.
What is Paper II of CAPF exam?
CAPF Paper II (General Studies, Essay & Comprehension) is a 200-mark descriptive paper: Essay writing (80 marks — write one essay from 4 options), Precis writing (40 marks), Comprehension (40 marks — 1 passage), Other comprehension/language skills (40 marks). Strong English writing skills and GK are critical for a high score in Paper II.
What is the CAPF (AC) salary and rank?
CAPF Assistant Commandants are posted at a Level 10 pay scale (₹56,100–1,77,500/month) plus allowances, HRA, TA, and force-specific benefits. This is equivalent to a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank. With promotions, officers can rise to DIG, IG, ADG, and even DG level.
