The Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme is one of the Government of India’s flagship programs designed to empower street vendors. Initially launched in June 2020 to help street vendors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the scheme has now been revamped and extended till March 31, 2030.
The revamped PM SVANidhi Scheme 2025 expands coverage, increases loan amounts, and promotes digital inclusion, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial skills, ensuring sustainable livelihoods for millions of urban and peri-urban vendors.

Key Highlights of the Revamped PM SVANidhi Scheme
Extended Lending Period: The scheme’s loan facility will now continue till March 31, 2030, offering long-term financial assistance to street vendors.
Expanded Coverage: Initially meant for statutory towns, the scheme now covers census towns and peri-urban areas, thus reaching more beneficiaries across India.
Increased Loan Amounts under PM SVANidhi Scheme:
First loan increased from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000.
Second loan enhanced from ₹20,000 to ₹25,000.
Third loan continues at ₹50,000.
UPI-Linked RuPay Credit Card for Street Vendors: Vendors who successfully repay their second loan can now access a credit card linked with UPI, providing quick credit for business and emergency needs.
Digital Cashback Incentives under PM SVANidhi: Street vendors conducting digital transactions are eligible for cashback up to ₹1,600, encouraging cashless business practices and financial inclusion.
Capacity Building & Training Programs: The revamped scheme supports entrepreneurship development, digital payments training, and financial literacy workshops. Special food safety and hygiene training is also provided in collaboration with FSSAI for street food vendors.
SVANidhi se Samriddhi Initiative: Through Lok Kalyan Melas, beneficiaries gain access to multiple government schemes, covering health, insurance, pension, and social security benefits for vendors and their families.

Since its inception, PM SVANidhi has transformed the lives of street vendors by providing easier access to loans and digital platforms for business.
Over 96 lakh loans sanctioned, amounting to ₹13,797 crore.
68 lakh street vendors have benefited directly.
47 lakh vendors actively use digital payments, with transactions worth ₹6.09 lakh crore.
Beneficiaries earned ₹241 crore cashback through digital payments.

Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) identify eligible vendors and help mobilize applications.
Awareness campaigns are conducted through TV, radio, print media, and digital platforms to reach vendors at the grassroots level.
