How Does an SSB Interview Work?

SSB is not your average job interview; rather, it is a thorough screening process intended to assess:

Officer-such Qualities (OLQs) such decision-making, teamwork, and leadership,Mental toughness, communication abilities, initiative, bravery, and emotional equilibrium.

SSB Interview: Five-Day Format

 Day 1: Screening Test Goal: Create a shortlist of applicants for the following four days

 Verbal and nonverbal thinking on the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test

 Write a tale, tell it aloud, and have a group discussion about it as part of the Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT).

Day 2: Exams in Psychology Goal: Evaluate underlying personality characteristics

 Thematic Apperception Test (TAT): Create narratives using twelve pictures

 Write brief thoughts in 60 words for the Word Association Test (WAT).

 Situation Reaction Test (SRT): Answer 60 real-world questions

 Self-Description (SD): Write about oneself from a variety of angles.

Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks for days three and four.

Goal: Assess teamwork, leadership, endurance, and critical thinking skills.

 comprises the following: a progressive group task (PGT); a group discussion; and a group planning exercise.

Goal of the Personal Interview (PI): Situational and in-depth question-answer session

Learning – Passions

General awareness, impromptu problem-solving, and mental acuity

 Day 5: Gathering

 The results are determined by a meeting of the interviewing officer, psychologist, and GTO.  You are either:

What Happens After SSB?

Suggested applicants go through medical examinations.

   Your SSB performance, writing score (if applicable), and medical records are used to create the final merit list.

 You enroll in the appropriate training academy (IMA, AFA, OTA, INA, NDA, etc.) if you are chosen.
